Imass K2â
provides a GIS-independent view of spatially referenced
events generated from business applications. The
holistic real-time view of events can typically include
vehicle and people locations from GPS, customer
contacts, jobs and telemetry alarms superimposed upon
asset data from the utilities GIS.
With the majority of utilities personnel being field-based major cost savings are achievable through Field Force
Enablement. We recognise that a major challenge to achieving these savings is to ensure that a similar level of resilience is achieved in the mobile environment to that expected from office-based systems. Resilience is greatly improved by the use of the bearer-independent Imass Gateway product for mobile data communications.
The Gateway includes intelligent vehicle and people tracking facilities and status and text messaging.
The Gateway can be deployed in a single or dual bearer environment and can operate with a range of bearers including GPRS, Tetra and Tetrapol.
