Data
with a sense of assurance
A
SECOND-GENERATION mobile data system has recently been
brought into operation by County Durham and Darlington
Fire and Rescue (CDDFRS), in partnership with IT supplier
Imass.
"We
invited Imass to tender for the provision of software
capable of managing risk information", said John
Robson of CDDFRS.
"The
'Data First' concept put forward by Imass gave a sense of
reassurance to the service that whatever operational risk
information we gathered could be transposed efficiently
and effectively into whichever system was selected by the
national FiReControl project. We wanted this
information to be transposed robustly, quickly and
easily. To provide a guaranteed solution, which
would be resilient to the needs of the service, we also
required a system that was tried and tested, simple to
operate thereby establishing and maintaining the
confidence to members of the service."
