Anglian Water chooses Imass Gemini II

Imass, a leading provider of integrated IT solutions to the Utility Sector, has won a major contract to supply Anglian Water with its new generation bio-solid data management system Gemini II.

The Imass Gemini system controls the management and analysis of sludge movement information and is already being used by North, West and East of Scotland Water Authorities, Northumbrian Water and Water Service Northern Ireland.

Gemini II builds on the success of the original and is designed to support the operational process of sludge management, including vehicle and route management, disposal site management, results calculations and regulatory reporting.

The contract with Anglian Water adds the international water and wastewater services company to the list of Gemini users and establishes Imass as the leading supplier of such systems to the sector.

The management of bio-solids is a core activity for Anglian Water, which is one of the largest suppliers of recycled sludge to the agriculture industry.

Simon Black, Anglian water's Biosolids Products Manager said: "It is absolutely essential that we have a robust, modern and flexible management system which can monitor sludge movements from sewerage treatment works and control the recycling of treated biosolids to agricultural land."

Imass will be working directly with CSC, of Farnborough, the company that manages Anglian Water’s IT systems, to install the Gemini II by April, 2002.

Imass Utility Sector Executive, Frank Brown said: "As well as improving services for millions of water customers, Gemini II helps water authorities to provide proof of compliance with statutory obligations. With the continuing and growing emphasis on environmental matters and new legislation being introduced at both national and European levels, it is essential that water companies keep up to date with new developments."

Imass has over 20 years experience providing IT solutions to the water industry. Having worked extensively in the UK, Middle East and Europe providing high quality, customer focused, integrated solutions in sludge management, customer service management (CSM), Spatial Systems (GIS) and trade effluent billing and consents management.
